Camden County Schools Wellness Program FAQ

Answers to Common Questions for Parents and Guardians

We understand you may have questions about how the Camden County Schools Wellness Program (CCSWP) works and what support your child will receive. Below are answers to frequently asked questions. If you need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

The CCSWP provides mental health support, including therapy, crisis intervention, and school clearance services, to students in Camden County schools. Licensed clinicians from Oaks Integrated Care work with students during school hours, helping them overcome challenges and thrive in their educational environment—all at no cost to families.

The program is open to students attending Camden County schools who may benefit from mental health services, as determined by school staff. Referrals can be made for students facing challenges like anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, family conflicts, trauma, or social isolation.

Our services include individual, group, and family therapy, crisis intervention, school clearances, and referrals to higher levels of care if needed. We also provide training for school professionals to better support students’ mental health needs.

Typically, students meet with a licensed clinician for therapy 1–2 times per week, depending on their needs.

Sessions take place during school hours and are structured to fit within the school schedule.

Registration begins with a referral from your child’s school staff. After the referral, you will need to sign a consent form to initiate services. A therapist or School Liaison from Oaks Integrated Care will then reach out to you to schedule an initial intake session.

No, all services provided by the Camden County Schools Wellness Program are grant funded and free for families.

Yes, confidentiality is a core part of our program. We take every precaution to ensure that each student’s information is protected and shared only as legally required or in cases of safety concerns.

Our program helps students facing challenges such as:

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Substance use concerns
  • Behavioral or emotional difficulties
  • Self-harm or suicidal thoughts
  • Bullying and social isolation
  • Family conflicts or trauma

If a student is experiencing a crisis, our clinicians provide a school clearance to help determine whether they’re ready to return to school. This process reduces unnecessary hospital visits and ensures students are safe and supported as they reintegrate into the school environment.

For urgent concerns outside of school, we recommend contacting your local crisis center or emergency services. The CCSWP team will address any in-school follow-up needs once school is in session.
