At Oaks Integrated Care, we believe that everyone has the potential to thrive with the right support. That’s why serving individuals of all ages and backgrounds has always been our priority. This year, more than ever, our services were required to keep our community together, when they were met by so many obstacles that could have torn them apart.
“Since the time I started Oaks Integrated Care’s Detox Program, I’ve had a constant stream of support and resources given to me, even when I was looking for outside resources for extra help with my mental health. Because they are a duel diagnosis facility, part of my recovery and my history is making sure I’m handling why I use. I have experienced quite a few outpatient facilities in my life and I have found Oaks to be the most open and comfortable with almost 24 hour care. I can text my counselor at any time of the day and she gets back to me with anything I need.
I like Oaks’ approach to my recovery. I do have a few counselors through Oaks Integrated Care and I’ve really enjoyed every counselor that I’ve worked with. I like that they all have different approaches and life experiences, so they always have different advice to give me and different coping mechanisms which gives me a wide range of choices when I’m upset or down. I don’t have to stick to just one way to handle my recovery. I found that many things work for me and it really takes a diverse team to give you that, and Oaks has that.” – Melissa B.
For the families, children and adults like Melissa who have come to rely on us, we work extra hard to ensure they have the resources and tools needed for the best chance at success during hard times.
We do this by providing a variety of mental health programs such as the K-12 Youth Partial Care afterschool program which focuses on social-emotional learning, so our youth feel equipped to handle any stress they feel during the school day. We offer services to homeless individuals with mental illness though our PATH program, connecting them to appropriate housing and mental health treatment.
Our Justice Involved team works closely with law enforcement to divert nonviolent mental health consumers from the jail system to appropriate mental health services in the community. Individuals served by Oaks, as well as others in need, can receive food, clothing and basic provisions from the Oaks Food Pantries, keeping their bodies nourished and minds free from worry of where their next meal will come from.
These are just a small sample of the 230 programs and services Oaks has to support our community. Covid-19 has created a demand in the need for our services, almost doubling individuals served prior to the pandemic, and our frontline heroes have been there to answer every call. Will you consider being a hero too by supporting our work with a gift to the annual fund today?
We rely on generous contributions to our Annual Fund to support these critical programs for those most vulnerable – and every gift, no matter the size, makes an impact. With support from donors like you, Oaks provides everyone the opportunity to be healthy and stable so they can thrive, and contribute to a better society. We hope you will join us in fulfilling our mission.
Sincerely,
Derry Holland, LCSW
