Rooted in Community Awards Celebrates New Jersey Individuals and Organizations Making an Impact

Mount Holly, NJ | June 10, 2023 – Oaks Integrated Care celebrated its third annual Rooted in Community Awards to recognize outstanding local heroes who contribute to the region through work, service and leadership. The event raised $125,000 to benefit Oaks’ mission to improve the quality of life for vulnerable children, adults and families through mental health and addiction services.

Over 150 attendees joined together on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. at Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ.  Attendees received a complimentary day pass for Grounds for Sculpture to explore nearly 300 contemporary sculptures sited across 42 landscaped acres.

This year’s honorees included the following individuals and organizations:

  • Congressman Andy Kim, New Jersey (03)
  • Dana L. Redd, President/CEO, Camden Community Partnership
  • Eric Schwartz, VP, Community Health & Transformation, Executive Director, Capital Health – Institute for Urban Care
  • Impact100 South Jersey, represented by Kyle Ruffin, Chapter President

Invested in the needs of New Jersey families, honoree Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) is dedicated to strengthening communities in the 3rd Congressional District. “The stigma associated with mental health and addiction challenges and the silent suffering of our neighbors, loved ones, and friends as a result has lasted for too long,” said Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03). “I’m humbled to receive this award and remain committed to bringing attention to these issues with my voice and action on these issues with my vote. If you or someone you love is in crisis, call 988 (crisis lifeline) or 1-844-REACHNJ (732-2465) (addiction helpline) for help.”

Every dollar raised from the Rooted in Community Awards benefitted Oaks’ mission to deliver critical services to individuals and families throughout New Jersey. Oaks ensures that everyday essentials such as housing, food, and quality social services are accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial circumstance.

Derry Holland, Oaks Integrated Care CEO, shares, “The impact that our honorees make in their communities does not go unnoticed. Our team is honored to recognize these dedicated individuals and organizations. We thank you for joining us at Grounds for Sculpture to show our appreciation.”
