Oaks Integrated Care proudly offers numerous services and programs throughout New Jersey to create impact, hope and change. In 2022, Oaks will continue to grow our initiatives to better serve and support our community.
Medication Assisted Treatment
New Jersey has seen an increase in overdose rates within the past year partly due to the pandemic, but also due to the presence of fentanyl and other synthetic opiates that are much more lethal and present in the substances being used. Oaks offers compassionate services for individuals and families living with an addiction or co-occurring disorder (mental health and substance use disorder).
In fall 2021, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) awarded Oaks a grant to expand the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program in Burlington, Camden and Mercer Counties. MAT services are designed to treat individuals in recovery with medications such as Suboxone, Vivitrol and others.
The new funding will allow Oaks to meet the increased need for treatment by serving over 600 individuals in a five-year period. When partnered with the right resources such as therapy, MAT becomes an opportunity to end the revolving door of treatment.
School Based Youth Service Program
Over this past year, the demand for mental health support for youth in our communities continued to increase. The NJ Department of Children and Families awarded Oaks a grant to expand our School Based Youth Services Program (SBYSP) to seven middle and high schools in Trenton. SBYSP provides free health and social services with the goal of helping students finish their education, obtain skills leading to employment or continuing education and graduate healthy and drug free.
Services include:
- Mental health counseling
- Employment counseling
- Substance abuse education/prevention
- Learning support
- Preventive health awareness
- Pregnancy prevention programs
- Primary care linkage
- Healthy youth development and recreation
- Referral to community programs
The expansion exemplifies just how relevant our mission is to so many individuals and families in our communities. Contact us for more information about mental health and addiction services near you!
