We’re busy gearing up for our annual Thanksgiving Turkey Drive NOW through November 18! Last year, with the help of our generous donors we distributed over 1900 turkeys with all the trimmings. This year, the need is greater than ever. Unfortunately, many families in our programs struggle to put food on the table on a daily basis and sadly, Thanksgiving dinner is no exception. This morning, when we closed the food pantry for the day, the shelves were pretty barren.  With the increase of patrons we see in the summer because school food programs aren't available, the food has been moving quickly off the shelves.  After today we were reduced to corn and rice. Thankfully, we received a call from Kris who, along with her two young daughters, hosted a food drive for our Hunger Doesn't Take A Vacation campaign!  They were on their way with a van full of food! …it IS easy being green! We’ve got a simple and eco-friendly way to upcycle your used plastic shopping bags. Don’t send your plastic bags to the landfill – drop them off to the Twin Oaks Food Pantry! We’re always in need of those handy, little bags to pack up the much needed food for our consumers.
