September 5, 2023 | WHYY When students at most Camden County schools experience a mental health crisis, they need to get evaluations and clearances before they can return to class. Most cases don’t require a hospital admission for a student to receive treatment, but with few other options for quick evaluations and clearances, many students and their families end up in emergency departments. During the last school year, Camden County schools referred students in crisis to emergency rooms at Jefferson Health, Cooper University Health Care, and Virtua Health approximately 2,500 times, according to county officials. Touch A Truck Rolls Out Fun-Filled Day in Camden

Camden, NJ | September 2, 2022 - Oaks Integrated Care’s Touch A Truck event rolled into Camden for a fun-filled day at the Triad1828 Centre parking lot. The free community event gave kids the chance to see, touch, and explore their favorite trucks. The local nonprofit also held a backpack giveaway at the event, distributing over 300 backpacks and school supplies to Camden youth. Touch A Truck featured a street sweeper, construction trucks, tractor trailer, fire truck, police cars, armored response vehicle and more. Camden County Police, Camden Fire Department, Camden County Sheriff, Camden County Public Works, Camden County Special Services District and the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office were on hand to show off their vehicles and interact with attendees.
