Evesham program drops fear of charges for those who drop drugs

Courier Post, March 23, 2018- The Evesham Police Department is inviting drug users to come to its headquarters on any Monday, without fear of arrest, to find treatment options. They'll even be able to turn in any drugs or related paraphernalia without being charged with possession. The “Straight to Treatment” program will operate every Monday from noon to 7 p.m. at the Evesham Township Police headquarters. Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office launches ‘Straight to Treatment’ Program in Evesham

Burlington County Times, March 23, 2018 - Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina on Friday announced the launch of his office’s “Straight to Treatment,” program, which will allow those struggling with addiction to turn in their drugs and paraphernalia at the township police department and meet with a drug and alcohol counselor from Oaks Integrated Care to be placed into treatment. After the initial screening, the person would then meet with a licensed drug and alcohol counselor from Oaks Integrated Care who would come up with a treatment plan. Southern NJ Continuum of Care awarded $3,586,935

CNBnews, January 21, 2018 - Gloucester County Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger and Freeholder Jim Jefferson announced that the Southern NJ Continuum of Care, who works to prevent and end homelessness, was awarded $3,586,935 from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. This is the seventh largest award presented in New Jersey. Agencies funded in this award included: Volunteers of America, Oaks Integrated Care, Center for Family Services, Robins Nest, Collaborative Support Programs of NJ, Camden County Council OEO, Inc. and Community Planning and Advocacy Council. Homeless Trenton man removed from makeshift camp, placed in housing

Trentonian, January 11, 2018 -After living three years on East Front Street in a makeshift camp, Doggett, a homeless man, agreed to enter a housing program, city health officer James Brownlee said Thursday. Doggett was placed into a hotel as Oaks Integrated Care readies an apartment for him, the city health officer said. Burlington County Times, January 5, 2018 - Through Gov. Chris Christie’s $200 million commitment to battling the opioid epidemic, Oaks Integrated Care received a $9.7 million grant to provide enhanced care management to those working towards recovery. Enhanced care management combines care management and recovery services for individuals who are “preparing for discharge from licensed treatment facilities that provide long-term residential, short-term residential, halfway house, inpatient withdrawal management and ambulatory withdrawal management,” according to the New Jersey Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services. Oaks, Virtua Officially Launch Opioid Overdose Recovery Program

Burlington County Times, December 21, 2017 - The goal of the program, launched in December, is to get people who have overdosed the resources and treatment options immediately, while they are still in the hospital. Under the new program partnering hospitals call an on-duty recovery specialist when they receive a patient who has overdosed. The specialist then must get to the hospital as soon as possible, preferably in less than an hour, and try to obtain the patient’s consent to schedule a meeting and offer a variety of treatment options and services available. Sheriff Collecting Toys For Needy At Moorestown Mall

Moorestown Patch, November 17, 2017 - The County Store at the Moorestown Mall is serving as a drop-off location for the Burlington County Sheriff's Department's 22nd annual Toy Drive. Human Service agencies will then work with the Sheriff's Department to distribute the donations to local children. These agencies include the Division of Child Protection and Permanency, Oaks Integrated Care, Catholic Charities, Christian Caring Center, Providence House, Sisterhood in Burlington City, Servicios Latinos, Foster and Adoptive Family Services and House of God in Delran.
