CNBnews, January 21, 2018 - Gloucester County Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger and Freeholder Jim Jefferson announced that the Southern NJ Continuum of Care, who works to prevent and end homelessness, was awarded $3,586,935 from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. This is the seventh largest award presented in New Jersey. Agencies funded in this award included: Volunteers of America, Oaks Integrated Care, Center for Family Services, Robins Nest, Collaborative Support Programs of NJ, Camden County Council OEO, Inc. and Community Planning and Advocacy Council. Homeless Trenton man removed from makeshift camp, placed in housing

Trentonian, January 11, 2018 -After living three years on East Front Street in a makeshift camp, Doggett, a homeless man, agreed to enter a housing program, city health officer James Brownlee said Thursday. Doggett was placed into a hotel as Oaks Integrated Care readies an apartment for him, the city health officer said. SNJ Today, January 5, 2018 - Oaks Integrated Care officials announced on Wednesday, January 3rd, that it has received $9.7 million in funding from the New Jersey Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services. Burlington County Times, January 5, 2018 - Through Gov. Chris Christie’s $200 million commitment to battling the opioid epidemic, Oaks Integrated Care received a $9.7 million grant to provide enhanced care management to those working towards recovery. Enhanced care management combines care management and recovery services for individuals who are “preparing for discharge from licensed treatment facilities that provide long-term residential, short-term residential, halfway house, inpatient withdrawal management and ambulatory withdrawal management,” according to the New Jersey Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services. Oaks, Virtua Officially Launch Opioid Overdose Recovery Program

Burlington County Times, December 21, 2017 - The goal of the program, launched in December, is to get people who have overdosed the resources and treatment options immediately, while they are still in the hospital. Under the new program partnering hospitals call an on-duty recovery specialist when they receive a patient who has overdosed. The specialist then must get to the hospital as soon as possible, preferably in less than an hour, and try to obtain the patient’s consent to schedule a meeting and offer a variety of treatment options and services available. In celebration of Human Rights month this December, the Oaks Ethics and Human Rights Committee invited staff and consumers from all programs and departments to showcase what Human Rights means to them by contributing to the Oaks virtual art gallery.
